Ganderbal, June 27: Two women were killed in a tragic road accident that occured this afternoon in the Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.
According to officials, the incident occurred when a Tata Mobile, registered under number JK01AS/4824, collided with the victims, resulting in critical injuries.
The women, identified as Zareefa, wife of Nisar Ahmad Mir, and Sabreena Jan, wife of Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, both residents of Gagangeer, were immediately rushed to the Primary Health Center (PHC) Kullan for urgent medical attention. However, the attending medical staff pronounced them dead upon their arrival at the facility.
Local authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident. Eyewitnesses reported that the Tata Mobile struck the victims with significant force, leading to severe injuries that proved fatal despite prompt medical intervention.
The incident has cast a pall of sorrow over the community of Gagangeer, with residents expressing shock and grief over the untimely loss of Zareefa and Sabreena. The families of the deceased have been plunged into mourning, while the broader community mourns the loss of these two lives in a tragic road mishap.
