Southern Gujarat Chamber Of Commerce & Industry Delegation Calls On LG Manoj SinhaSrinagar, June 27: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has announced that Jammu and Kashmir has seen a remarkable 300 percent annual rise in foreign tourist arrivals. Speaking at the two-day Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Conclave-2024 held at Sher-e-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) alongside the scenic Dal Lake, Sinha underscored the government’s efforts to foster a sustainable tourism model aimed at positioning J&K as a premier global destination.

“We have witnessed unprecedented growth following the COVID-19 pandemic, with a nearly 300 percent year-over-year increase in foreign tourist visits. This surge reflects our commitment to implementing new policies, creating a conducive environment, providing stimulus to the tourism sector, and introducing new experiences to generate year-round employment,” Sinha remarked.

Highlighting the transformative impact under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sinha emphasized the heightened international interest in J&K while also promoting domestic tourism. “This transformation is not only enriching local communities but also contributing to the evolution of a modern tourism industry,” he added.

The event at SKICC featured discussions on enhancing tourism infrastructure, promoting cultural heritage, and leveraging J&K’s natural beauty to attract visitors from across the globe.
