Srinagar, June 26: In preparation for the sacred Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2024, the Directorate of Rural Sanitation, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, J&K has been diligently working to ensure the safety and well-being of every pilgrim embarking on this spiritual journey.
As the Batal Base Camp experiences rainfall since the early morning hours, the concerned department has been swift in their efforts to maintain a clean, hygienic, and hospitable environment for all pilgrims.
The Directorate of Rural Sanitation, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj has left no stone unturned in making sure that all necessary measures are in place for the smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
Despite the challenging weather conditions, the team has been up to the mark in setting up tents, makeshift sheds, and other facilities to accommodate the pilgrims comfortably.
In addition to setting up the necessary measures, the Directorate of Rural Sanitation, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj has also been actively engaged in educating people, shopkeepers, residents on the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
A team of department officials conducted door to door awareness camping today raising awareness about responsible waste disposal and sanitation practices aim to instil a sense of collective responsibility among all participants. They were made aware about the sorting and separation of waste types. The wastes can be separated or segregated into three types of waste products including Blue, Green and Red dustbins.
The Directorate has been diligently working to guarantee the well-being and comfort of every pilgrim embarking on this sacred journey. The authorities have been taking keen measures to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for all pilgrims, alongside prioritizing their safety in light of the ongoing challenges presented by the monsoon season.
At the Batal Base Camp of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, the day began with persistent rainfall, setting the stage for a wet and potentially challenging start to the pilgrimage. However, the concerned department has risen to the occasion, demonstrating their commitment to maintaining a clean and hygienic environment despite the adverse weather conditions. Their proactive efforts have not gone unnoticed, as they strive to create a safe and comfortable space for all pilgrims partaking in the Yatra.
Preparations at the base camp are well underway, with all tents and makeshift sheds ready to be set up for the forthcoming Yatra. The meticulous planning and execution by the Directorate of Rural Sanitation have ensured that every detail is accounted for, from sanitation facilities to waste management systems, to guarantee a seamless experience for all pilgrims.
As the countdown to the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra continues, the Directorate of Rural Sanitation remains steadfast in their commitment to ensuring a memorable and spiritually enriching experience for all pilgrims.
