Kargil, June 26: In a fitting tribute to the 25th Anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, the Indian Army organized the Captain Sourabh Kalia Girls’ Tournament at the Sourabh Kalia Stadium. The event was held in collaboration with Government High School Kaksar and saw enthusiastic participation from three local schools and the University Campus Kargil.

The tournament culminated in an exciting final match between Government Council Model High School Goma Kargil and the University Campus team. Demonstrating outstanding skill and teamwork, the University Campus team emerged victorious, defeating High School Goma Kargil by 9 wickets.

The event was not only a celebration of sportsmanship but also a tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Captain Sourabh Kalia. Villagers expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army for organizing such a wonderful tournament and contributing to women’s empowerment through these initiatives.

Trophies and medals will be awarded to the winning teams and participants during the Boys’ Cricket Finale, scheduled to be held at the same venue.

This initiative by the Indian Army highlights their commitment to promoting sports and fostering a spirit of unity and patriotism among the youth of Kargil.
