Leh: Today marked a significant milestone as Ladakh Police, under its Civic Action Programme, proudly flagged off 50 students from 18 different schools across District Leh for the transformative Bharat Darshan Tour.
The flag-off ceremony, held with solemnity and enthusiasm at Ladakh Police Headquarters, Agling, witnessed the esteemed presence of Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, IPS, Additional Director General of Police, SSP Leh Ms. Shruti Arora-IPS, SP Traffic, SP Security, SP UTDRF, Dy. Commandant IRP Battalion, AIG Provisions, AIG CIV and other senior officers of PHQ, Dy. SP Hqr, Dy. SP DAR alongside other distinguished officers.
By providing students from various districts including remote border villages with the opportunity to explore various parts of India, Ladakh Police is not only fostering a sense of national pride but also facilitating experiential learning and cultural immersion.
It was heartening to see the enthusiasm and gratitude expressed by students Farheen Kausar and Nasir Ali, who recognize the significance of this opportunity.
Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal’s emphasis on enriching students’ understanding of India’s diversity highlights the educational aspect of the tour. He advised the students to maintain a tour diary and share their experiences with their families and peers.
Moreover, the inclusion of Ladakhi students from various corners of District Leh reflects the diversity of Ladakhi culture and its representation on a national stage. Accompanied by dedicated Ladakh Police officials, the students are set to embark on a journey scheduled from February 23rd to March 2nd, 2024 that promises not only sightseeing but also personal growth and cultural exchange.
