LEH: A One Day Refresher-cum-Orientation Course on Basic Forensics and New Criminal Laws was organised at Police Headquarters, Agling, UT-Ladakh, an official spokesperson said on Sunday.
This comprehensive program was designed for Police Officers and Executive Magistrates to acquaint them with significant updates in criminal laws and advancements in forensic science.
Newly enacted criminal laws, namely Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Sakshya (BS) and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) were the focus of the course. These laws mark a transformative step in Indian legal system, aiming to modernize and make the criminal justice process more efficient.
The program was conducted in presence of Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal-IPS, ADGP Ladakh along with all senior police officers of Ladakh Police. Ladakh Police was honored to host distinguished guest speakers for this event, including Firdous Khan (MD, Forensics), Tsering Phuntsog (Sr. PO, Kargil), Jigmet Phuntsog (PO), Dechen Angmo (PO), Jigmet Wangchuk (PO), Kunzang (Consultant, Forensics), Zubair (Consultant, Forensics) and Muraad (Consultant, KPMG CCTNS Ladakh).
Their expertise in forensics and criminal law provided valuable insights and practical knowledge to the participants.
This initiative is part of Ladakh Police’s ongoing efforts to ensure that our officers are well-informed and equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complexities of the legal and forensic landscape effectively. It underscores our dedication to fostering professional development and enhancing the quality of justice administration in the region.
