Leh: An event was organized by the Department of Sheep Husbandry Leh to distribute Nomadic Kits, under the IWDP and Pashmina Development Programme (PMDP) in Leh today.
The Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson attended the event as the chief guest along with the Hon’ble Member Parliament Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgail as the guest of honour. Hon’ble Executive Councillor for Animal and Sheep Husbandry, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Hon’ble Councillors of Igoo, Lamayuru, Saspol of LAHDC Leh, Director Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department Ladakh, Dr. Mohd Iqbal, CAHO Leh, Dr. Stanzin Rabgais, DSHO Leh, Dr. Tsewang Morup and other concerned officers/officials were present during the event. H’CEC, H’MP, and H’ECs along with other officials distributed the Nomadic Kits, to the beneficiaries present at the event.
They further emphasised the importance of the scheme and hoped that the kits would help these herders of Sham, Nubra, Gya-Meru, and Tangyar in reviving the age-old tradition and strengthening their livelihood and economic growth.
Herders shared their views on the distribution of kits under various schemes by the government and expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Administration and the Hill Council, Leh for their assistance in providing the essential kits to the herders community of these regions.
