Leh, Feb 06: Councillor, Cha, Shri Stanzin Lakpa, called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd, at Raj Niwas.
Shri Lakpa apprised the HLG of the importance of resumption of helicopter service between Leh and Padum for better accessibility during the winter months. He also informed that the helicopter service would facilitate the transportation of tourists and participants for the upcoming Zanskar Winter Sports Festival. He requested the HLG’s intervention in resuming helicopter service between Leh and Padum.
Shri Lakpa also highlighted the importance of the announcement of district status for Zanskar at the earliest for the benefit of the people of Zanskar.
The HLG asked Secretary Aviation to look into the matter of the resumption of helicopter service to Zanskar and take necessary steps in this regard.
