Kargil, Jan 26: The 75th Republic Day was celebrated today in Drass Sub Division with enthusiasm. SDM Drass, Vishal Atri who was the chief guest unfurled the National Flag while the national anthem was played in the background.The chief guest inspected the parade and took a salute at the march past presented by the contingents of various schools. The event was attended by all the officers and officials of the Sub Division, Councilor Drass, and Councilor Bhimbet, besides a huge public gathering.
While addressing the gathering the chief guest greeted the public on the 75th Republic Day and reiterated the tireless efforts made by the national leaders for the sake of freedom and enforcement of constitution for best and exemplary governance.
The SDM enumerated the major developmental works that took place in Sub Division Drass such as Zojila Tunnel. He also appreciated the efforts and endeavours of all line departments for providing best quality service to the public.
Thereafter, patriotic and folk songs were presented by the children of different schools that enthralled the audiences.
The event concluded with the distribution of prizes, trophies and appreciation certificate among the participants, best employees and position holders of the Sub Division.
