Digital attendance for students in J&K schools from new academic session

Jammu, Jan 24: As the government under New Education Policy is taking several measures to reform the education sector in Jammu and Kashmir and as a part of this exercise, from the new academic session, digital attendance shall be introduced for the students in the schools across the Union Territory.

Official sources said that digital attendance of students and school management system will be implemented in schools from the new academic session.

“The Vidya Samiksha Kendra will also be opened in Jammu and Kashmir which will be helpful in bringing comprehensive changes in the school education system,” they said adding that the School Management System will be implemented for the digital admission process while efforts will be made to bring all the schools on one dashboard.

“Under the National Education Policy, monitoring of various projects and activities in holistic education has been ensured. Data and technology are being included in this process,” they said.

Sources stated that Vidya Samiksha Kendra is an innovative project, which has been brought by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding, “it will collect data of students and teachers in all schools through Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.”

Sources further added that the data assessment based call management utility and reporting system of Vidya Samiksha Kendra will also be integrated with the monitoring dashboard which will help in creating a better education environment.

“With the establishment of Vidya Samiksha Kendra, the process of decision making and implementation will become simpler. Accountability of field staff, administrators and chairpersons will increase and the exact progress of various projects will be known at the right time,” they said.

Sources revealed that tracking the registration of students, progress in learning level, bringing children out of schools, delivery of textbooks will also be linked with Vidya Samiksha Kendra, adding, “this facility will start by February 2024 following which our efforts to improve and modernize education in Jammu and Kashmir will be successful.”

They said that the command and control center shall also be established by February 2024 and added, “this center is expected to start functioning from March 1. Attendance of students will be marked digitally and the school management system will be implemented for the digital admission process.”

“Efforts will be made to bring all the schools on one dashboard. Command and control center will improve communication and data management,” sources added.
