Kargil, Jan 23: In a ceremony held at Deputy Commissioner Office, DC Shrikant Suse honoured the National Medallists of Thangtha Ladakh for their outstanding performance at the 29th Junior National Thangtha Championship.
The players secured Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals, showcasing exceptional talent and dedication to the sport. President of Thangtha Association Ladakh, Mudassir Wazir, and Coach Mohd Hassan were also present at the event.
DC Kargil commended the athletes for their achievements and expressed heartfelt good wishes for their participation in the upcoming Khelo India Youth Games scheduled to be held in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
Highlighting the potential for Ladakh’s youth, especially after the region’s transition to a Union Territory, Shrikant Suse encouraged the players to capitalize on the opportunities by putting in diligent efforts and practicing hard.
Mudassir Wazir extended gratitude to DC Kargil for the support and urged him to assist in expanding the association’s reach across every nook and corner of the district, ensuring that more talented youths benefit from such initiatives.
In a symbolic gesture of encouragement, DC Kargil later flagged off Team Ladakh, led by Coach Mohd Hassan from the Horticulture Department, for the Khelo India Youth Games. The collaboration between sports and the Horticulture Department exemplifies a unique synergy, showcasing the diverse talents within the coaching staff.
