Leh: A training and exposure on “Waste Segregation and Management” was conducted by Ladakh Environment and Health Organization (LEHO) at Tsangda segregation unit, Solar Colony for the homestay owners of villages Tia, Skampuk and Nubra.
The program had 40 participants. Tsering Youdon, Supervisor, Tsangda Segregation Unit, demonstrated various processes of segregation to the participants.
Tashi Thomat, Dy. Director, LEHO explained the various practices of waste segregation learnt from his visit to Japan and Sweden.
At last, the participants from each of the villages shared their learnings from the training and discussed the current situation of waste segregation in their villages while thanking LEHO for conducting these kinds of training programs as a part of rural tourism promotion in Ladakh.
The program was concluded by Tsewang Tharchin, Field officer, LEHO with a vote of thanks.
