Kargil, Jan 19: Several delegations called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Niwas, Kargil on the second day of his visit to Kargil on Thursday.
Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Shrikant Suse, Additional Superintendent of Police, Kargil, Chowdhary Iftikhar Ahmad and Joint Director, Information, Ladakh, Imteeaz Kacho were present during the meetings.
Hon’ble Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon apprised the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor about issues related to the Kargil-Zanskar Highway from 0-6 kilometres. Various technical and land compensation issues were discussed. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the team of NHIDCL to proceed as per the existing DPR.
In respect of upgradation of the Iqbal Hydel Project, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Secretary, Power Development Department to keep the project in the budget.
In respect of the demand of Hon’ble Chairman/CEC regarding the extension/upgradation of District Hospital, Kargil to 200 beds, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor gave assurance of a favourable consideration.
Rector, Kargil Campus, University of Ladakh, Kaneez Fatima also called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and submitted a memorandum seeking additional land allocation and an over-head bridge in her Campus at Khumbuthang to link the residential section with the main campus.
While replying to the demand of the over-head bridge, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed NHIDCL to look into the matter and resolve it on priority basis as the safety of students is of utmost importance. On the demand for allotment of land, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil to examine the case.
During the interaction with the delegation led by Councillor-LAHDC, Saliskote, Sajjad Khan, the latter placed various demands before Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor related to public welfare. While giving a patient hearing, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner to examine the issues.
On the other hand, a delegation of Computer/Data Operators of Power Development Department sought their regularization. In this regard, Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor directed the Deputy Commissioner to examine the case.
While referring to the recruitment rules for the post of Lecturer of School Education Department, a delegation of Lecturer aspirants urged the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor to consider making Biology candidates eligible without separating Botany and Zoology. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor then directed the Principal Secretary, School Education to check the recruitment rules and take remedial steps accordingly.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor addressed the demands of Multi-purpose Health Workers of NHM regarding release of performance incentives at par with Community Health Officers (CHO). He then gave instructions that the aggrieved persons should be made to meet Managing Director, NMH-Ladakh so that the matter can be looked into as per the established rules.
The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor interacted with various other delegations and individuals from across the district including officials of various departments, persons seeking the financial assistance and others. He gave a patient hearing to all their issues and said that their genuine demands will be looked into as per norms within specific timeline.
