Leh, Jan 19: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh and National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad at Hyderabad.
The aim of MoU is to foster and promote academic and research collaborations, faculty and student exchange, teaching programmes, and a proposal to facilitate the preservation, promotion and development of the Sowa-Rigpa System of Medicine as a model evolving high standards of teaching, training, research and to invoke scientific outlook to the knowledge of Sowa-Rigpa.
The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), is an Institute of National importance for Pharmaceutical Sciences and Management with a proclaimed objective of becoming a Center of Excellence for Learning & Research under the Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, Govt. of India.
The MoU is signed on behalf of National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa, Leh by Dr Padma Gurmet, Director, NISR and on behalf of National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) by its Director Prof. Shailendra Saraf.
The MoU will give opportunity for faculty exchange and collaborate to identify need-based, demand-driven, sustainable education programs to be delivered through e-learning, distance education and regular modes going forward. NIPER Hyderabad will provide training in research techniques in Molecular Biology, Neurosciences, Pharmacology, Toxicology, Bio-analytical studies, medical devices and other related areas and opportunities to undertake electives for BSRMS students at NIPER Hyderabad.
NISR would facilitate research at NIPER Hyderabad by providing clinical material, Materia-Medica Plant Kingdom, Metal, Mineral and Animal Kingdom, Therapeutic principle, External and Rejuvenation Therapy and samples from NISR through this partnership.
