Leh, Jan 13: The 2th day of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a flagship initiative aimed at promoting the benefits of Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) reached the Tibetan community today at Choglamsar, Leh. The same event held yesterday at Agling Leh. The event today took place under the Chairmanship of Member of Parliament, Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal.
The camp witnessed the presence of guests, including Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal, Councillor Phyang, Tundup Nurboo, Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC, Leh), Sonam Nurboo, and Chairperson Block Development Council, Leh, Dr. Skalzang Dorjey.
Nambardar presented the welcome speech on behalf of all the Tibetan people residing in the Camps.
MP Ladakh encouraged the Tibetan community to take the benefits offered under Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) and urged them to familiarize themselves with the Tibetan Refugee Policy on the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) official website. Further, he urged the public to avail themselves of doorstep services for Aadhar Card, Abha card, Golden Card, and more provided at the VBSY camp.
Similarly, ADDC also gave awareness regarding benefits of various government schemes.
BDO, Leh, Tsering Angchuk, shared the progress of the VBSY camp, highlighting the coverage of all 95 Panchayats in Leh district, except for the Tibetan community. The primary goal of organizing the event in the Tibetan community is to implement flagship schemes in 12 Tibetan Refugee camps. He also discussed other schemes like Swachh Bharat Abhiyan Misssion and MGNREGA.
The event featured recorded messages from Hon’ble President of India, Draupadi Murmu, and Hon’ble Prime Minister, Narendra Modi screened on the Information, Education, and Communication van.
Additionally, Councillor Phyang, Tundup Nurboo addressed the gathering and spoke about his countribution regarding to Tibetan community. He also praised the successful implementation of Jal Jivan Mission and other schemes in the area.
Under the ‘Meri Kahani Meri Zubaani’ segment, beneficiaries Sonam Dorjey and Stanzin Nurboo shared their success stories, experiences, and motivated attendees to actively participate and take benefit from available schemes. The Tibetan community showcased their rich heritage through a cultural performance.
Approximately 500 people participated in the camp, where stalls from different departments provided on-the-spot services.
MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal, distributed subsidized horticulture tools to the Tibetan community, fostering self-sufficiency. He also facilitated all the Department heads with the traditional Khataks for their efforts to run the camp successfully.
Similarly, BDC Chairperson, Dr Skalzang Dorjey also urged the people to take benefit from the VBSY camp.
About 100 plus Aadhaar cards have been updated by the officials of the Education Deptt and NIC Division throughout the day. Besides, basic health checkups such as, BP, Sugar, TB etc have been carried out by the officials of the Medical Department.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by CRO, Dhondup Tashi, expressing gratitude towards the UT Administration.
The HODs of different departments: Horticulture Officer, Kunzang Wangmo; Animal Husbandry, Dr Tsewang Murup; Lead Bank Manager; Tsering Angmo; Medical Department, Dr Ikarab, etc and village representatives led by Nambardar were also present at the event
