Leh, Jan 08: Another case of an unfortunate fire incident was reported at commercial establishments at Spituk market today.

The Executive Councillor for Agriculture, LAHDC Leh, Stanzin Chosphel visited Spituk market to assess the on-ground situation of the unfortunate fire incident that happened this morning.

EC Chosphel was accompanied by BDC Leh, Dr. Skalzang Dorjey, Tehsildar Leh, BDO Leh, and the concerned officers from the District Line Departments. The officials made a detailed assessment of the fire-affected establishments and expressed their solidarity with the aggrieved owners. EC Chosphel further advised concerned officers to immediately take all necessary steps under suitable welfare schemes to compensate for the losses at the earliest.

Terming the unfortunate incident, EC Chosphel assured the fire victims of all possible assistance from the Hill Council, Leh and the District Administration, Leh to alleviate their losses.

To prevent similar incidents in the future, EC Chosphel urged the general public to stay cautious, particularly during the winter months when the usage of electrical appliances peaks.
