Leh, Jan 07: Special Investigation Team (SIT) Narcotic Unit Leh organized an impactful awareness program on drug and substance abuse at Shesrab Skidsal Ling Learning Centre in Thiksay.
The event saw active participation from approximately 300 students and staff members of the Centre.
In a bid to address the rising concerns related to drug/substance abuse, Inspector T. Stanzin, In-Charge, Narcotic Unit Leh and Sub-Inspector Stanzin Legsmon, PS Leh comprehensively covered various aspects of drug abuse, shedding light on symptoms, prevention strategies, and the detrimental effects of such substances.
The speakers also emphasized the legal consequences associated with substance abuse to instill a sense of responsibility among the students.
The program concluded with a pledge where attendees collectively affirmed, ‘Say No to Drugs, Yes to Life.’ This commitment underscores the importance of fostering a drug-free environment and promoting a healthier, more resilient community.
