Leh, Dec 28: The Union Territory Administration in Ladakh has announced ‘Meconopsis Aculeate Royle’ (Himalayan Blue Poppy/ Ladakhi – Tser-sNon) as the state flower of the Union Territory of Ladakh. Commissioner Secretary, Forest, Ecology & Environment, UT Ladakh. Dr. Vasanthakumar Namasivayam, IAS in an official statement said that the decision has been taken with the approval of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT of Ladakh.
The Forest Ecology and Environment Department UT Ladakh in a notification issued on dated 26th of December 2023 said, “The Hon’ble Lt Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh is pleased to declare Meconopsis aculeate Royle (Himalayan Blue Poppy/ Ladakhi – Tser-sNon) as state flower of the Union territory of ladakh from the date of issue of this notification. The issues with the approval of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor, UT of Ladakh ”.
