Kargil, Dec 25: Director, Urban Local Bodies, Ladakh, Tahir Hussain today visited various locations of MC Wards No.7 and No. 8 in Gongma Kargil.

He was accompanied by Administrator, MC-Kargil Imteeaz Kacho, Shafqat Ali Khan, Executive Officer, MC-Kargil and officials of MC-Kargil besides residents of the two wards.

The inhabitants apprised the Director about their issues related to proper drainage, need for black-topping the roads, need or laying tiles in lanes, street lights, need for removing construction material from road sides, need for developing children parks and increasing the number of sweepers as well as beautification.

While informing the inhabitants about the drainage portion of the sewage treatment project, the Director assured that sincere efforts will be made to redress all the issues and to fulfill the demands. He also laid stress on public ownership and upkeep of all assets being built and developed by the Municipal Committee.

Further, he directed the concerned officials of the Municipal Committee to remove any sort of construction material from the road sides and to dig sewage pits so that waste water gets soaked underground instead of overflowing on the roads.

Discussions were also held about the scope of creating eco-friendly public spaces in Gongma Kargil for use by the locals and tourists alike.
