Leh, Dec 25: Chairman/CEC LAHDC Leh Tashi Gyalson in the presence of Executive Councillor for Agriculture Stanzin Chosphel on Sunday visited Project Tsangda Centre at Choglamsar and flagged off the newly procured vehicle to effectively aid in waste collection.
He also inspected the operations of the trail-based compost machine installed at the centre for producing organic manure.
Project Tsangda officials informed about the satisfactory performance of the machine, however, demanded a bigger machine at the Choglamsar Centre and added that the current machines will be beneficial for the other Tsangda centres.
The CEC also interacted with the workers of Project Tsangda to assess their demands and grievances. During the interaction, the workers extended their gratitude for enhancing their salaries.
Secondly, they demanded a vehicle for collecting wet waste separately. CEC Gyalson assured to provide all possible support to fulfill their demand for WASH facilities and wet-waste collection vehicle by next summer.
Highlighting the vital role of Project Tsangda in keeping the environment of Ladakh and rural areas clean, CEC Gyalson lauded the Project Tsangda workers, supervisors, and officers of the Rural Development Department for their tireless and dedicated efforts.
Councillor Phyang Constituency; Chairperson, Block Development Council Leh; Chief Planning Officer, Leh; District Panchayat Officer Leh; Executive Officer, MC Leh; Block Development Officer, Leh; and officials from the Project Tsangda were also present on the occasion.
