Srinagar, Dec 22 (UNI) Police on Friday booked a wanted drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act in Jammu Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Police said the most wanted and notorious drug smuggler identified as Shoaib Aijaz Guru alias Shoaib ,a resident of Millat Colony KanisPora Baramulla was booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority.
“The booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu”, police said.
“Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these drug smugglers and were involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth of Town Baramulla & other areas of the District. Despite his involvement in many FIRs he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth”, police added.
