Leh, Dec 20: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Ladakh and Sri Sri Rural Development Programme Trust (SSRDP Trust) under the aegis of the Art of Living Foundation on Wednesday (Dec, 19, 2023) at Bangaluru.
The MoU was signed by Prof. S.K. Mehta, Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh and Shri Deepak Sharma, Trustee, SSRDP in the presence of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a globally revered spiritual and humanitarian leader.
The main focus of the MoU is to develop the knowledge partnership between the UoL and SSRDP Trust to achieve common objectives of both the organizations and fulfil the goal of inclusive growth through skill development in the Ladakh UT.
This knowledge partnership aims to help improve sustainable livelihood opportunities in Ladakh through awareness/demonstration/training on new techniques/technologies for sustainable use of natural resources. It will work on improving preparedness against threats of climate change in the Trans- Himalayan Region.
The MoU will also facilitate cross-exchange of volunteers for internship and fellowship opportunities, joint projects and organizing conferences/workshops/Training programs. Dr. S Joldan and Dr. S Sharma representing University of Ladakh, and Air Cmde Rabindra Merani, Chairman Board, Mr Kiran Pujari, and Ms Stanzin Diskt from SSRDP were present during the signing ceremony.
