Leh, Dec 17: In a commendable operation conducted on December 15, 2023, around 04:30 PM, the Housing Colony Police Post swiftly acted upon credible information received from a reliable source. Four individuals involved in illegal gambling near Mazda Workshop Lane/Gali, Skalzangling were apprehended.
Four Individuals including 03 Nepal Residents & 01 from Srinagar presently working as labourers in Leh were caught red-handed engaging in illegal gambling activities. Seized items included Rs. 41,000 in cash. Subsequently, FIR No. 219 U/S 13 Gambling Act was registered at the Leh police station.
Similarly, on 16/12/2023, around 05:00 PM, the Housing Colony Police Post, acting on information received from a reliable source, apprehended four individuals engaged in illegal gambling near Ibex Colony, close to the ARTO office. 04 Nepalese Nationals presently working as labourers in Leh were caught red-handed with Rs. 26,000 in cash. FIR No. 220 U/S 13 Gambling Act at the Leh police station was subsequently registered.
District Police Leh, dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of the community, remains actively committed to eradicating the menace of illegal gambling.
