Leh, Dec 07: In a proactive effort to enhance community engagement and address pertinent issues, a Police Community Participation Group (PCPG) meeting was convened at the Police Post Housing Colony, chaired by Additional S.P Leh, Ms. Shruti Arora, IPS.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, including SHO Police Station Leh and Incharge Police Post Housing Colony, and fifteen Nambardars from the Housing Colony jurisdiction. The gathering provided a platform for the Nambardars to voice their concerns, spanning various departments such as Traffic, Municipality, and District Administration.
One of the significant issues highlighted was the improper parking of trucks and heavy vehicles in the narrow bylanes of the residential colony, particularly during the winter season. District police assured of increased action in coordination with traffic police.
To prevent burglaries, Nambardars were encouraged to promote the installation of CCTV cameras in their respective localities, particularly in light of locked houses during the winter season. Additionally, it was decided to intensify the landlord-tenant verification drive with increased focus on the accountability of the landlords.
The community acknowledged and commended the District Police Leh’s efforts in combating drug-related issues. The meeting concluded with warm Losar greetings and a shared commitment to working together for crime prevention and reduction.
