 The National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh is participating in the 5th Global Ayurveda Festival at Green Field Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar inaugurated the Festival on Friday (1st December 2023).

The Global Ayurveda Festival (GAF) 2023 is being held in the state capital of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram from December 1-5, on the theme ‘Emerging Challenges in Healthcare and a Resurgent Ayurveda’.

The largest ever conclave on Ayurveda, GAF 2023 has witnessed the gathering of international practitioners of alternative medicine, researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore its impact in healthcare.

In his inaugural address, Hon’ble Vice President of India, Shri Jagdeep Dhankar said that the Government of India has played a pivotal role in fostering the growth and global recognition of Ayurveda and other Ayush system of medicines.


He said that India stands as a global leader in Ayurveda, with a rich legacy of knowledge and practice that spans millennia. The National Institute of Sowa-Rigpa (NISR), Leh has organised an exhibition of the Sowa-Rigpa system of medicine on digital mode along with free Sowa-Rigpa consultation and medicine to the general public. The objective of the participation is to promote Sowa-Rigpa on a National and Global level.
