Leh, Dec 05: Under the guidance of Principal Dr Tsewang Motup, Government Degree College, Nobra observed World’s AIDS Day in the college campus.
The programme commenced with a welcome note by Assistant Professor Tsewang Lahmo, Convenor, Red Ribbon Club. She addressed the gathering by talking on the ways and means of spreading this virus and precautionary measures needed to prevent it.
Further in conformity with this year’s theme “Let communities Lead”, she emphasised that we can end AIDS virus by 2030, if the HIV infected communities are sufficiently funded to lead.
On this occasion, Dr Tsewang Motup spoke on the topic Stigma related to HIV infected patients. He reiterated that in today’s world the younger generations are at a higher risk of getting infected due to wide scale usage of intravenous drugs.
