Leh, Dec 04: In a commendable initiative Indian Army aimed at enhancing national unity, cohesion, promoting cultural exchange and understanding and organized a National Integration Tour for 35 community members, comprising of 29 females and 6 males, hailing from Sasoma and Gaya villages in Ladakh.

Maj Gen SS Bakshi, SM, GOC, Leh Sub Area today flagged In the National Integration Tour. The tour was held from 30 November 2023 to 04 December 2023.

The members visited National Museum and India Gate with an aim to promote culture, architecture and understanding broader perspective. Thereafter the members visited National War Memorial on 02 December 23, with an aim to foster patriotism and National pride. The contingent also visited Rail Museum and Pradhan Mantri Sangrahalay and Rashtrapati Bhawan with a purpose to expose members to the history, evolution and technological advancement of Indian Railways.

This initiative underscores the Indian Army’s commitment for promoting inclusivity and strengthening the bonds of unity among citizens from diverse backgrounds. National Integration Tour will prove to be a valuable initiative in promoting cultural understanding, fostering a sense of National Unity and inspiring the youth of Ladakh to contribute towards national integration. The tour provides an opportunity for Ladakh’s residents to experience the rich diversity of India’s culture, traditions and fostering deep appreciation for their country’s unique heritage.
