Nagaland Foundation Day celebrated with full fervour at LG Secretariat Ladakh

Leh, Dec 01: The Foundation Day of Nagaland was celebrated with full fervour at the Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat in the presence of Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Deputy Chairman, LAHDC Leh, Tsering Angchuk and Advisor to LG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS.
Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal appreciated the visionary initiative taken by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, in the form of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat to inculcate a sense of unity and oneness among the people of different states of India and the celebration of Foundation Day of all states/UTs of India in all Raj Bhawans/ Raj Niwas.
He stated that Nagaland is a diverse state rich in culture, traditions, cuisine and biodiversity. Jamyang spoke about the Naga Tribe Movement and informed about the Hornbill Festival held in Nagaland, in which musicians from across the country take part. He wished the best to Nagaland on their Foundation Day and hoped to see Nagaland becoming developed in future.
Deputy Chairman, Tsering Angchuk, congratulated the people of Nagaland on their Formation Day. He stated that it is due to the initiative taken by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi to celebrate the Foundation Day of the states/UTs in all the Raj Bhawans/ Raj Niwas to acknowledge and understand the rich cultural diversity of different states/UTs of India under EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme.
Angchuk said that the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) took the initiative to send students from Ladakh to all states/ UTs to celebrate the UT Foundation Day of Ladakh as the region’s ambassador to showcase Ladakh’s rich culture and heritage.
Advisor to LG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, IAS, stated that Nagaland is rich in cultural diversity and shared experiences of his visit to Nagaland, including the visit to the memorial of Captain Neikezhakuo Kengurüse MVC who played a pivotal role in India’s victory in the Kargil War against the enemy forces.
He emphasised the objective of celebrating Foundation Day of all states/UTs and wished the people of Nagaland on their Foundation Day.
Assistant Commandant, ITBP, Dr Tewe Lomi from Nagaland who is currently serving in Ladakh, expressed his gratitude to the UT Administration for celebrating the Foundation Day of Nagaland. He informed about various tribes and dialects which exists in Nagaland. He also appreciated the people of Ladakh for their warm hospitality and nature.
Secretary to LG, Ravinder Kumar, informed about the celebration of Foundation Day of various states and UTs at the LG Secretariat under the Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat programme. He informed that Nagaland became the 16th state of India on 01st December 1963 after its bifurcation from the Assam State. He also informed about the rich culture and biodiversity of Nagaland.
Commissioner Secretary, Mehboob Ali Khan, IRS; Secretary, Ravinder Kumar, IAS; Chairperson, BDC Leh, Skalzang Dorjey; government officials and personnel from Nagaland serving in Ladakh were present during the Nagaland Foundation Day celebrations at the LG Secretariat.
