Leh, Dec 01: The Debate and Seminar Committee of Government Degree College, Khaltse observed World Aids Day Friday under the theme ‘Let Communities Lead’.
Pediatrician, CHC Khaltse, Dr Spalchen Gonbo talked extensively on risk factors, causes and societal perception of the disease. He also stressed upon extensive community participation for mass awareness about the disease and urged the students to inculcate good moral behavior in order to avoid the risk factors.
More than 23 students participated in the programme and interacted with the speaker.
Assistant Professor, Department of Environmental Sciences, Dechen Angmo, presented the welcome address and Asst Prof. Department of English, Stanzin Deldan presented a brief introduction on the importance of observing World Aids Day.
In conclusion, Asst. Prof. Department of Sociology Dr. Tsering Norphel, presented the vote of thanks.
