GDC Nobra, Ladakh Police observe Police Martyrs Week

Leh, Oct 29: Government Degree College, Nobra headed by Principal Dr. Tsewang Motup in collaboration with Ladakh Police, Police Station, Diskit, Nubra observed Police Martyrs Week. On this occasion, a declamation contest on the theme “The Legacies of Police Martyrs” was conducted in the college multipurpose hall.
Students from various Higher Secondary Schools of Nobra and Govt. Degree College, Nobra participated in the contest. The programme began with a welcome address by the Principal Dr. Tsewang Motup wherein he emphasized upon the heroic role played by the Police Personnel in the line of duty. Participants in their respective addresses, spoke elaborately on the sacrifices and hardships faced by the Police Martyrs in order to maintain law and order in the society. The contest was judged by Mr. Rigzen Wangchuk SHO Diskit, Dr. Padma Lhamo, Assistant Professor – History and Rinchen Angmo, Assistant Professor – Political Science.
Tenzin Nyima, of class 11th Govt. Higher Secondary School, Diskit Nubra was adjudged as winner whereas Zahra Batul, Semester- I Govt. Degree College, Nobra and Sanju Kumari, Semester- I Govt. Degree College, Nobra were adjudged as 1st & 2nd Runners Up respectively.
The winners were awarded certificates and cash prizes of Rs. 1500/-, 1000/- and 500/- respectively.
In the end, Mr. Rigzen Wangchuk, SHO Diskit presented the vote of thanks. The whole programme was hosted by Zanskit Dolma semester- I of GDC Nubra. The programme proved to be a fruitful and informative one.
