DC Kargil reviews progress of Jal Jeevan Mission

Kargil, Oct 28: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Suse today chaired a meeting of officers to review the progress of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district at Conference Hall, Baroo.
Superintending Engineer, PHE, I&FC Kargil, Maqbool Hussain, Chief Planning Officer Kargil Abdul Hadi, Exen PHE Kargil and Zanskar, AEEs, AEs, JEs, IEC Coordinator, ISA Team and other concerned officials and district officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, DC Kargil took a detailed review of progress of providing Functional Household Taps (FHTCs) under JJM  in the district.
Superintending Engineer, PHE, I&FC Kargil Maqbool Hussain through his presentation informed the meeting that out of 19,189  rural households a total of 15,960  FHTC connections were provided till 27 October 2023 which sums around 83.17 percent.
During the meeting, the DC Kargil stressed to complete the remaining works at the earliest. He also set timeline for the completion of works and directed AEs and JEs to strictly follow the timelines and furnish the progress report within regular interval.
He also warns officials about disciplinary action if no actions are taken genuinely complaints from general public with respect drinking water supply. He directed PHED to put in place comprehensive measures to ensure smooth drinking supply during forthcoming winters.
