Peaceful protest held in Leh to express solidarity with people of Gaza

Leh, Oct 27: Muslim Coordination Committee (MCC) Leh, UT Ladakh, organized a peaceful protest outside Jama Masjid at Main Market here today to express solidarity with the people of Gaza who have been enduring a protracted conflict resulting in significant loss of life.

Muslim Coordination Committee Leh along with various prominent speakers, shed light on the historical context and the plight of the Palestinian people.

Moulana Mohd Omar Nadvi, the Imam of Jama Masjid Leh, emphasized the urgency of restoring peace in Gaza and Palestine. Sheikh Nazir Ahmed Sharifi called for condemning Israel and urged the global community to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

Ashraf Ali Barcha, President of Anjuman Imamia Leh, provided a detailed historical perspective on the Israel-Palestine conflict, highlighting the complexity of the situation. He appealed for immediate intervention of the international community to stop bloodshed in Gaza.

Dr. Abdul Qayum, President of Anjuman Moin Ul Islam, stressed the need for a deep understanding of the truth behind the current crisis.  “With nearly 7000 Palestinian lives lost, the need for urgent international attention and action cannot be overstated. The ongoing conflict in Gaza has raised concerns about the support of superpowers for the Israeli government, perpetuating a situation where the innocent and helpless Palestinian people continue to suffer,” he said.

Qari Mohd Amin of Jama Masjid Leh offered a heartfelt prayer for world peace, with a special focus on Gaza. The event was conducted by Adv. Mohd Ramzan Khan, who thanked all participants and urged the Government of India to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people during this challenging time.

Muslim Coordination Committee Leh reiterated that it would remain committed to advocating for peace, justice, and the rights of the Palestinian people, and called upon the international community to address the on-going crisis in Gaza with the utmost urgency.
