Leh, Oct. 20: In a significant stride towards product traceability and promoting disease-free local produce, Senior Consultant, Department of Animal Husbandry and  Dairying, Gautam Deb in collaboration with Directorate of Animal/Sheep Husbandry, UT Ladakh carried out a survey and meeting with stakeholders in Gya and Meru villages for establishing Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO).
The primary objective was to lay the groundwork for FPOs for disease-free local produce, including milk, wool, and their by-products. It was informed that these products will be geo-tagged along with the value chain.
Also, Gautam Deb held a detailed meeting with the Executive Councillor (A/S) LAHDC-Leh; Director Animal/Sheep & Fisheries, Dr Mohd Iqbal, and Officers of the Department on October 19.
