Leh, Oct 14: The Member of Parliament of Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal visited the recently inaugurated Milk pasteurization facility of Animal Husbandry Department in Agling along with the Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Leh Tashi Namgyal Yakzee.
Director, Animal Husbandry Department, UT Ladakh, Dr. Mohd Iqbal informed the MP Ladakh about the estimated cost of Rs. 4.6 Cr. incurred to make the facility operational as well as the availability of pasteurized milk under the brand name ‘Ladakh Oma’ to the general population and Indian army.
MP Ladakh applauded the Animal Husbandry Department’s achievement as a revolutionary initiative for the dairy industry in UT Ladakh. He added that it would accomplish the vision of the Indian Prime Minister’s ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ and ‘Vocal for local’ campaigns by boosting the local economy.
He assured of every assistance for strengthening & networking of milk federation to associate milk producers from all regions of Ladakh to make the brand ‘Ladakh Oma’ a success.
