Leh, Oct 13: Commissioner Secretary, Higher Education Department (HED), Padma Angmo today said that the grievance of Ladakhi students regarding PMSSS scholarship has been taken up with the Ministry of Education for sympathetic consideration.
The Commissioner/Secretary said that her office recently received grievances from several students with regard to the PMSSS scholarship. “These students have taken admission in those institutions which have been blacklisted by Govt of India for PMSSS scholarship which has put their scholarship in jeopardy.”
“I immediately wrote a letter to the Ministry of Education and highlighted the grievances of some 39 students. I have requested the Ministry to allow the students to carry on their study in those institutions for the academic session along with the grant of PMSSS scholarship,” she informed.
“Lt Guv Brig (Dr.) BD Mishra also talked to the Secretary, Ministry of Education in this regard and called for taking urgent steps to redress the grievance of Ladakhi students,” she added.
