Delegation of general line teacher aspirants calls on Lt Guv

Leh, Oct 13: A delegation comprising BEd and CTET holders aspiring for general line teacher posts led by Smt Rigzin Dolma called on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd), at Raj Niwas. Member of Parliament from Ladakh, Shri Jamyang Tsering Namgyal; Principal Secretary, Shri Sanjiv Khirwar and Director, Department of School Education, Shri Tsering Paldan were present in the meeting.

Smt Rigzin Dolma informed the HLG that candidates like her, who hold BEd and CTET certificates, were looking forward to appearing in the written exam for the post of Teacher, Science Teacher (Science/Math), Language Teacher (Bhoti), Language Teacher (Urdu), Language Teacher (Hindi), Special Education Teacher but the said exam scheduled to be held on October 15 has been postponed. She requested the HLG to hold the written examination on the said date.

Principal Secretary Shri Sanjiv Khirwar apprised the HLG that candidates must have BEd and CTET passing certificates (both Paper 1 and 2) as per the guidelines of Government of India and they should also hold graduation degrees to become eligible for the posts of the general line teachers advertised by DSSRB Leh. He informed that CTET exams are held twice a year and the candidates who clear both Paper 1 and 2 can appear in written examination for general line teachers. He also apprised the HLG that more posts of teachers will be created in the future.

The HLG said that there is no requirement for any change in the recruitment rules. He asked the concerned officials to conduct the written examination as per the existing recruitment rules. He also stated that the Administration will take decisions keeping the benefit students in mind.
