Leh, Oct 08: To commemorate the 91st anniversary of Indian Air Force, Air Force Station Leh organized a static display at Air Force Station Leh, here today.
The show included static display of Rafale Aircraft, Cheetal Helicopters, indigenous Akash Missile System and Medium Range Surface to Air Missile. Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of UT of Ladakh, Brig Dr.BD Mishra (Retd.) was the Chief Guest on this occasion whereas officers of sister services and civil dignitaries graced the event hosted by Air Commodore DS Handa, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Leh.
The marquee event started with students and general public witnessing the displayed aircraft and missile systems. They were also briefed about the strengths and capabilities of each system. Attractive aircraft posters, stickers and other publicity material were distributed amongst the students witnessing the event. It invoked inquisitiveness, particularly among the younger generation. Successful conduct of the event was a testimony to the cooperation and coordination between the functionaries of Air Force Station and Civil Administration.
The show not only motivated young generation to join the Indian Air Force but also showcased the advancements in the country’s aerospace power.
