Army organises National Integration Tour for students of Padum

Leh, Oct 04:   A thirteen days National Integration Tour was organised by Forever in Operations Division under the aegis of Fire and Fire Corps of Indian Army for

25 students of different age groups accompanied by three teachers of Lamdon High School, Padum, Zanskar Valley of Ladakh. The tour was flagged off on 22 September 2023 from Kargil District and culminated on 04 October 2023 at Leh.

The tour was aimed to provide the youth of far-flung areas of the Union Territory of Ladakh, an insight to the rich & diverse heritage of the nation. During the tour, they visited various places of interest in Chandigarh, Delhi and Jaipur to include Rock Garden, India Gate, National War Memorial, Nehru Planetarium, National Science Centre, New Sansad Bhawan, Hawa Mahal, Nahargarh Fort and Jantar Mantar. All the children were enthralled to witness the diversity of each place. For most of the students it was their first trip out of Ladakh region and one of the most exciting experience was their first flight in an aeroplane.

The students on arrival at Leh on 03 October 23 interacted with the Chief of Staff, Fire and Fury Corps and gave an enthusiastic feedback on their experience and education of the trip. As a token of remembrance of the trip the Chief of Staff, Fire and Fury Corps presented mementoes to the team.
