Kargil, Oct 01: A cleanliness drive was organized under the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ initiative with the theme ‘Ek Tareekh Ek Ghanta Ek Saath,’ took place in Kargil today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Wani , officials from MC Kargil, dedicated volunteers from Ladakh Tribal Foundation, Al-Zera Health Wing, AAPIDA Mitra, and students from Jaffaria Academy Kargil, Suru Valley Public School, along with a large number of local residents, actively participated in this event.
During the event, ADC Kargil emphasized the significance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment and highlighted the long-term benefits of such initiatives. He also explained the purpose behind conducting this cleanliness drive nationwide.
Volunteers wholeheartedly engaged in the drive, while cleaning the streets and other vulnerable areas along the riverfront, starting from Islamic School and extending to Qaltilgah Kargil.
Prior to the cleanliness drive, ADC Kargil, along with officials from MC Kargil and other participants, took the Swachhata Pledge and officially flagged off the participants for the plogging walk.
