Jammu, Sept 26: The Jammu Development Authority (JDA) is in a fix over an alleged missing record of house allotments, which is to be probed by the six-member panel constituted by the administration.
Top sources said that several files related to housing allotments allegedly have gone missing from the office of Jammu Development Authority (JDA) of which employees are also unaware.
“How and when these files have been missed has raised doubts over the working of the department,” sources added and said that when investigated, it was found that many vital records are missing but how, is known to none.
Taking cognizance of the alleged ‘missing’ record, the senior administrative official has also directed to constitute the committee to investigate the matter and set the records straight.
As per official sources, a six-member committee has been formed under the leadership of Director Land Development Management Jammu.
Sources revealed that the department is on tenterhook after he formation of the committee, adding, “it is learnt that the record and files of previously allotted properties in JDA have gone missing, which is being investigated,”
“Even after several days of search when the documents remain untraced, the committee was formed to probe the matter pertaining to the allotment section while the allottees and applicants will be asked to submit original and supporting documents for scrutiny if required by the team,” they added.
Sources however, said that the committee will meet at least once a month to monitor the progress of recovery status of the documents and will take decisions in these matters, adding, “monthly progress report will be mandatorily submitted to the administrative department for timely review. The team will investigate and complete the renewal of records within a year.”
