Leh, Sept 25: Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) Leh Monday organised a ‘Science Camp’ for the Vigyan Jyoti Programme (VJP) Scholars. The camp witnessed several activities including the District Mental Health Programme wherein students were given motivational lectures on stress management.
As part of the camp, the VJP scholars visited ISRO Space exhibition – organized by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council, Leh in collaboration with University of Ladakh and Space Application Centre (SAC-ISRO) Ahmadabad. The exhibition was organised in the premises of Lamdon Model Senior Secondary School Leh (Ladakh-UT).
On this visit, the VJP Scholars were shown a documentary based on the History and Researches of Space programme. They were shown models of Geo-stationary satellite, PSLV, Chandrayaan-1, MARS, Orbiter mission, spacesuit etc.
Later on, a quiz competition was organized on Science and Technology, Latest Researches, General Knowledge and Current Affairs in which VJP Scholars of Class 10th and 12th of the JNV, Leh participated.
Earlier, a Vigyan Jyoti Programme Experiential Learning Workshop under Science camp activity was conducted in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Leh.
The camp witnessed several science activities on Science & Technology besides demonstrations of some working models were performed.
The demonstrations performed during the camp include (i) Automatic Switch on/off of electric bulb (ii) Automatic Hand Sanitizer (iii) Energy Efficient Barrier System etc.
The Programme was a great success among the Vigyan Jyoti Programme scholars as they expressed great satisfaction with this type of unique learning experience they gathered during several science activities performed.
