Kargil, Sept 20: Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Suse today attended the closing ceremony of the 10-day long National Level Trekking Course at Conference Hall, Kargil.
During the event, the Deputy Commissioner was the chief guest and Additional DC Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-Ud-Din Wani was the guest of honour, Principal IISM, Gulmarg, Col. IS Thapa (SM,SVM) was also present.
DC Kargil congratulated all the participants for successful conclusion of the trekking course. The course was organised by the Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering (IISM).
The trekking course participants were introduced to the fundamentals of mountaineering through training and informative lectures, setting the foundation for the upcoming challenges, demonstrations and hands-on experience in mountaineering skills, camping, and mountain hazard management. The participants trekked to the base camp and advance basecamp of Mt. Nun in the Zanskar Range.
DC Kargil complimented the institute, instructors, and supporting staff for their unwavering dedication and expertise, which ensured safety of participants and success of course.
