Leh, Sept 16: Department of Fisheries, GoI on Saturday celebrated the 3rd Anniversary of the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Samphda Yojana (PMMSY) across the nation.
Hon’ble Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Parshotum Rupalaji, graced the occasion as the chief guest in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. Besides, other ministers and concerned officers and officials were also among the esteemed guests who participated in this event.
Notably, fishers, fish farmers, entrepreneurs, and numerous officers and officials from various states and union territories were present, underscoring the nationwide importance of PMMSY.
During the program, the Hon’ble Union Minister virtually inaugurated a multitude of projects that had been successfully completed under the PMMSY Scheme. Among these inaugurations was a Trout Fish Culture Unit featuring four raceways, owned by Fatima Khatoon, a resident of Chochut Shamma Leh.
Hon’ble Minister interacted with beneficiary Fatima Khatoon, inquiring about the tangible benefits of the scheme and its socio-economic impact on her life and family.
Even, Fisheries Department Leh actively participated in the program virtually. Fish farmers and staff members, alongside AD Fisheries Leh, joined the event online.
