Leh, Sept 16: A delegation from Ladakh Seabuckthorn Association led by its President, Shri Ashraf Ali Barcha called on Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) at Raj Niwas. Shri Barcha apprised the HLG about the production of Seabuckthorn in Ladakh and informed about the issues and challenges in production of Seabuckthorn. He requested HLG’s intervention to boost the Seabuckthorn in the region. The HLG assured Shri Barcha to examine the matter and necessary steps will be taken to boost the Seabuckthorn in the region.
A delegation comprising of President, Ladakh Rigjung Charitable Foundation, Smt Yangchan Dolma and Principal, Ladakh Rigjung Public School, Leh, Smt Stanzin Ethok called on HLG at Raj Niwas. Smt Ethok apprised the HLG about the Ladakh Rigjung Public School, which is formed in 1995 and informed that 80% of students were studying free of cost. She Informed the HLG that the school has two branches in Kargil and requested the HLG for allotment of land for expansion of the schools in Kargil and construction of hostels for the school. The HLG instructed them to meet and discuss the matters with Member of Parliament, Ladakh.
Dr Padma Disket, Senior Consultant Surgeon called on HLG at Raj Niwas. Dr Disket apprised HLG about her visit to United State of America for training in medical science and requested HLG’s intervention for grant of visa of USA for the purpose of the visit. The HLG assured Dr Disket to possible support for her purpose of visit to USA.
Shri Tundup Dorjey, a resident of Spituk called on HLG at Raj Niwas. Shri Dorjey requested HLG for allotment of land to construct a house. The HLG instructed Shri Dorjey to meet Deputy Commissioner, Leh in this regard.
