Jammu, Sept 12: Equipped with modern gadgets, the Nano Drone is a new killer machine for the enemy having a capability of hitting the target by scanning a face of the aim within seconds after taking off in the air.

Nano Drone will further augment the capabilities and efficiency of the Indian Armed Forces after their induction as they are being manufactured in bulk.

“Expected stock of manufacturing Nano Drone will be ready by December this year,” said an official.

He stated that the machine is equipped with modern gadgets and also capable of targeting a person by scanning the face, adding, “the drones are presently being used by the Army along with the Special Forces in Ladakh Northern Command, Eastern Command and Southern Command.”

Indigenously manufactured nano drones, which are capable of flying in the air within ten seconds, will be used in countering the enemy while being used in wars and military operations, he added.

The official said that the IDR Research and Development, the manufacturer of the nano drone “Doot MK 1” is currently working towards making the machines by adding new technology switches.

“The latest version of nano drone will be equipped and have an installed program to identify the enemy’s hideout and cause explosions,” the official added and said that work is in full swing towards making drones that will explode and cause damage after reaching close to the target and the stock will be ready by December.

IDR Research and Development has also recently displayed several of its nano drones at the North Tech Symposium.

“The drones are being used by the Army along with Special Forces in Ladakh, Northern Command, Eastern Command and Southern Command,” the official said and added that the company has provided 16 such nano drones to the Northern Command.

“Small in size, the machine is easily able to reach anywhere to keep watch on the enemy and also effective in anti-terrorist operations,” he added.

He further said that the drone can even enter inside the house through the smallest opening and monitor every movement of the enemy from a safe distance.

“The sound-proof machine not only acts like a bird but also does not emit light during night hours to catch the eye of the enemy,” he said and added that the flying object is best suitable for spying on suspicious and anti-national elements.

“It is not visible even at the height of 20 meters,” adding he said that weighing about 250 and 350 grams, nano drones can stay in the air for 25 to 30 minutes and can fly at a height of 70 meters.

“It also transfers live feed from a distance of one and a half meters and is capable of flying at a speed of 80-kilometer per hour,” he added.

The official said that the trial of flying nano drones in extreme cold in the highest areas of Ladakh also remained successful and the Indian Army has also shown keen interest in the machine.

“Hopefully the company will supply these drones at the earliest to enhance the strength of the Indian Army in future days,” he added.
