Leh, Sept 08: With an aim to encourage the consumption of traditional, nutritious dishes while promoting healthy eating habits among children, Magic Bus today organised ‘Traditional Food Competition’ at Siddhartha School in Stok, Leh. The competition was organised to celebrate National Nutrition Week.
The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Rigzin Yangdol, Nutritionist – SNM Hospital, Deachan Wangmo – Principal, Siddhartha School, Stok; Kunzes Dolma – Asha Worker, and Mrs. Deachan – Anganwadi worker.
Around seven schools including Siddhartha School, CIBS School, Lamstan School, Riglam School, BVN School, Govt. High School Housing Colony, and Jamyang High School enthusiastically participated in the competition, fostering a spirit of camaraderie and culinary creativity among students.
The competition featured the active participation of ten teachers from these seven schools, who provided invaluable support to the young participants.
The Traditional Food Competition was evaluated based on the following criteria: food presentation, nutrition value, taste, and students’ ability to explain their prepared dishes. The judging panel, comprising experts and nutritionist Rigzin Yangdol, meticulously scored each entry.
