LEH: Continuing his visit to remotest parts of the union territory, as a part of the Vibrant Village Programme, Union Minister for Heavy Industries Government of India, Dr Mahendra Nath Pandey visited several villages of Changthang.
Pandey, who is visiting Ladakh under Centre’s Vibrant Village programme, also held interactions with the locals and inaugurated a JJM site.
At Nyoma village, he paid a visit to Primary Health center, Greenhouse sites, and interacted with the public as well.
He also met with the people of Rongo Village and Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) site was inaugurated at Mudh village, an official spokesperson said.
He met Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans at Mudh village and also visited the veterinary camp run by them in the village.
He also held a public meeting at Rongo Village, located only 35 km from the China border, where he spoke on a number of public welfare schemes of the Central Government and the efforts made by the Union Territory of Ladakh.
“During the Vibrant Village program, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of 78 year old Abilee Sonam Dolma ji of Mudh and 76 year old Samcho Rashi ji of Rongo village,” he tweeted.
Further, Golden cards were distributed to villagers during the interaction. Additionally, stalls were set up by the departments of Sheep husbandry, Animal husbandry, Medical centre, Agriculture, Co-operative, and villagers of Mudh showcasing different local products such as spinning wheels, traditional weaving process, and textiles, etc.
Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee; Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Leh, Sonam Chosjor; Councilor Nyoma, Ishey Spalzang, and SDM Nyoma, Jigmet Angchuk along with all the HODs were also present.
