11 unbusted bombs diffused in Kurbathang

KARGIL: The Indian Army has diffused eleven unexploded explosives in Kargil, an official informed on Friday.

After a boy was killed in bomb explosion in the month of April, the Army along with the district administration had started started the sanitization of Kurbathang area, which still has some unbusted bomb from the 1999 India-Pakistan war.

The sanitisation drive which had commenced on April 17 in Kurbathang area, with as many as seven bombs identified and diffused on day one, has continued ever since.

On Friday, an official informed that the Indian Army has diffused eleven unexploded explosives in Kargil.

As many as eleven bombs were diffused by Bomb Detection Team of Indian Army led by Sappers of Forever in Operations Division. The drive was conducted in close coordination with Tehsildar Kargil and Sarpanch Pashkum village, the official added.

“11 UXOs diffused by BD Team of Indian Army led by Sappers of Forever in Operations Division,” a statement said.
