First since 2018, Ladakh UT to get 34 new fuel stations, bids invited

LEH: In yet another massive development push to Ladakh, the union territory is all set to get 34 new fuel stations, even as three major state-run oil marketing companies have invited bids for the same.

Of these 34 fuel stations, 15 will be set up by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, 11 by Indian Oil Corporation Limited while 8 stations will be set up by Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited in the union territory.

This is for the first time, it may be mentioned, after the reorganisation of Ladakh into a full-fledged union territory that oil marketing companies have invited applications from the public to set up new fuel stations across Ladakh. Last such exercise was carried out in 2018.

The Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited have notified the details of the proposed fuel stations to be set up in the union territory and have invited bids for the same.

The 15 locations from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd include Leh WML (only on these road GH Road/Skara Road/Fort Road/Old Road/Skalzangling); On NH, Within 2 kms of Primary school Changlung, Stakchey, towards Leh on Kargil Leh NH; In village matayen-upto 2 Km of Hotel Gateway kargil-Srinagar, on NH raod; Within 2 KMs from Upshi T point (on leh manali or Upshi – Chumathang-Leh Road); Wakha Wadoo to Shargole Bridge on NH1 on Wakha-Mulbekh NH; On NH of Shey, Thiksay and upto Choglamsar NH Road; On NH within 2 kms of Patsathang, Khaltsi; Within 2 kms from Govt High School, Bodhkharbu on NH, Kargil; Within 1.0 Kms of PWD Rest House, Sumoor – Nubra on Nubra T-Point – Siachen Road; Lower Kumic Village, Zanskar on Nimoo-Padum-Darcha Road; Within 0.5 Km new medical center, Wanla on Wanla-Lingshed-Zankskar Road; Within 1 KM from Nubra T-Mohr OR on Disket-Hunder Road; From Bharat Benz Showroom on Choglamsar By-pass Road to Skalzangling Chock on Agling Road; At Padum on Zanskar Kargil Road, district Kargil; and Within 1 KM from Durbuk T point (Rigzin Martyr Square) on Leh-Durbuk-Tangste Road.

The 11 locations from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd include 3 Km from Upshi junction towards Leh on Leh-Manali highway; Between Police checkpost Khangral and Bodhkharbu on NH-1;  Within 4 Km from Km Stone 198 Right Hand Side towards Drass on Leh Srinagar Highway; Within 2 KM of Community Health Centre Sankoo Toward Zanskar on NH-301; Within 3 Kms from Skalzangling chowk towards IOCL Bulk Depot on Leh-Agling Road (Within Municipal Limits Leh); Village Cha, Block Headquarter Cha on Nimmo-Padum-Darcha Road, Zanskar ; Village Chuchot Yogma on Choglamsar to Stakna road near Chuchot Camel farm; Village Nyeraks on Nimoo-Padum-Darcha road; Village Achinathang on Khaltsi-Batalik Road; Village Wanla; and Village Turtuk, Tehsil Disket.

The 8 locations of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited include within 4 KMs from Khaltsi Bus Stand towards Srinagar on NH-1; from Skalzangling Chowk to Spituk Choglamsar road junction on Agling road; Drass on NH-1; within 2 kms from kharu junction towards shey on NH-3; from Thiksey Monsatery to Singhay Namgyal Chowk, Leh on NH-3; from Rinchan Auditorium to Army General Hospital on General Hospital Road; village Khangral on NH-1, within 1 KM from Palam Zampa (Bridge) on Spituk Choglamsar road.
