JAMMU: Superintendent of Police, Jammu South, Shaheen Wahid held an interactive session with the industrialists of Gangyal and Digiana, and discussed with them the measures to ensure a drug free Jammu.
During the free-wheeling interaction, Shaheen Wahid also held a detailed discussion on the issues and problems vis-à-vis policing being faced by the industry stakeholders here.
The Superintendent of Police, Jammu South held this interactive session at Association of Industrialists (AOI) Bhawan here. She was accompanied by Sachit Gupta, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, South and Ajay Chib, Station House Officer, Gangyal.
At the outset, Wahid emphasised on forging a strong coordination between the industries and the police department, to make Jammu a crime-free city.
She stressed that since majority of crime has drug menace as its roots, it is important to eradicate the drug menace from Jammu.
“The role of Industries, being a major employer in Jammu, thus assumes greater significance in this mission as hundreds of workers from all over the country work in the industries here,” she said and sought cooperation from the industrialists in the police department’s mission of making Jammu a drug-free.
The members of the Industrialists Association assured the officer of their full support in realising the dream of a drug-free Jammu.
The industrialists apprised the Superintendent of Police, Jammu South of various problems and issues being faced by them and sought her intervention. Shaheen Wahid assured them the early redressal of all their genuine problems.
Notable among those who were present on the occasion included office bearers of the Association of Industrialists Gangyal including President Rajesh Jain, Vice President Balram Gupta, General Secretary Virender Jain, Secretary Vijay Sharma and former president T S Reen.
